Testo di Luca Deias (ITA) Il dipinto si ispira all’opera "Rose bianche e rosa" di Henri Fantin-Latour. C’è un evidente richiamo alle sue cromie: Prevosto fa uso del marrone e del viola per il vaso, per poi giocare coi colori primari per dar vita, con spatola e pennello, alla parte floreale. Il petalo caduto sulla sinistra del vaso non è solo compositivo, ma allegoricamente rimanda al concetto di vanitas, manifestando l’inesorabilità della morte e la caducità del tempo. |
Text by Luca Deias (ENG) The painting is inspired by the work "White Roses and Pinks" by Henri Fantin-Latour. There is an obvious reference to his colours: Prevosto uses brown and violet for the vase, and then plays with primary colours to bring the floral part to life with spatula and brush. The fallen petal on the left of the vase is not only compositional, but allegorically refers to the concept of vanitas, manifesting the inexorability of death and the transience of time. |
