L’opera, ispirata alle nature morte di Chardin, presenta colori acidi, contrastanti e dissonanti. Da segnalare una crudezza nella pittura e nel modo di stenderla, con pennellate a tratti tormentate sullo sfondo che rimandano alla tragicità primordiale distintiva delle Cosmogonie. Nel dipinto cattura l’attenzione la razza, caratterizzata da esplosioni cromatiche che costituiscono le sue viscere. L’autore enfatizza così la brutalità trasmessa dall’immagine.

The work, inspired by Chardin's still lifes, features acidic, contrasting and dissonant colours. There is a rawness in the painting and in the way it is applied, with sometimes tormented brushstrokes in the background that recall the primordial tragic nature that is distinctive of the Cosmogonies. In the painting, the breed catches the eye, characterised by explosions of colour that constitute its innards. The author thus emphasises the brutality conveyed by the image.
