Prevosto attualizza e fa suo il concetto di “non finito”, già indagato da una serie di correnti, come gli impressionisti, o da altri artisti, come Filippo de Pisis. Prevosto, con l’opera, gioca e interpreta a sua volta la dicotomia tra finito e non finito: per l’artista “siamo tutti un non finito”, in riferimento all’evoluzione continua della natura e di tutto l’esistente. Su questa scia, eccetto i soggetti – il vaso e i fiori al suo interno - lo sfondo è appena abbozzato e parte della tela non è stato oggetto di alcun intervento artistico, è nuda, bianca.

Prevosto updates and makes his own the concept of the ‘unfinished’, already investigated by a number of currents, such as the Impressionists, or by other artists, such as Filippo de Pisis. Prevosto, with his work, plays with and interprets the dichotomy between the finished and the unfinished: for the artist, "we are all unfinished" referring to the continuous evolution of nature and all that exists. In this vein, except for the subjects - the vase and the flowers inside it - the background is barely sketched and part of the canvas has not undergone any artistic intervention, it is bare, white.
