Testo di Luca Deias (ITA) L’opera riprende le ninfee di Monet non solo per i soggetti, ma anche per l’inquadratura ravvicinata. Prevosto utilizza il blu oltremare e il grigio payne per dipingere l’acqua, che trascende da ipotetico stagno per divenire allegoricamente un universo, in cui le ninfee non sono semplici fiori, ma costellazioni in movimento. L’acqua è infine realizzata con pennellate sfaldate che rimandano all’antimateria e de-costruiscono l’immagine delle ninfee multicolori. |
Text by Luca Deias (ENG) The work echoes Monet's water lilies not only in its subjects, but also in its close-up framing. Prevosto uses ultramarine blue and payne grey to paint the water, which transcends from a hypothetical pond to allegorically become a universe, in which the water lilies are not simply flowers, but constellations in motion. The water is finally realised with flaky brushstrokes that refer to antimatter and de-construct the image of the multi-coloured water lilies. |
