​Prevosto detronizza l’alzatina - allungata nel collo per esigenze compositive - dalla consueta centralità prospettica. La taglia di netto, quasi decapitandola. Allo spettatore non resta che concentrarsi su altri elementi del dipinto di matrice morandiana: pennellate vibranti, superfici mosse, colori primari modificati con variazioni di tonalità. I motivi compositivi sono quelli annunciati dal titolo, mentre le ombre risultano innaturali sul piano cromatico.​

​Prevosto dethrones the riser - elongated in the neck for compositional needs - from its usual perspective centrality. He cuts it clean off, almost decapitating it. The viewer is left to focus on other elements of the painting of Morandi's matrix: vibrant brushstrokes, wavy surfaces, primary colours modified with tonal variations. The compositional motifs are those announced by the title, while the shadows are unnatural in terms of colour.
