Prevosto realizza un lavoro concettuale, giocando con colori caldi e con un accenno di cromatura fredda, data dall’azzurro dell’alzatina. La composizione risulta pacata solo all’apparenza: le pennellate del tavolo, così come i tratti dello sfondo, sembrano infatti restituire e rivelare la vera identità artistica - più tormentata - del dipinto. Il mandarino, materico, è dipinto per esigenze compositive, come se contrapponesse o bilanciasse il peso visivo dell’alzatina.

Prevosto creates a conceptual work, playing with warm colours and a hint of cold chrome, given by the blue of the splashback. The composition is calm only in appearance: the brushstrokes of the table, as well as the strokes of the background, seem in fact to restore and reveal the true - more tormented - artistic identity of the painting. The tangerine, textured, is painted for compositional needs, as if to counterbalance or balance the visual weight of the splashboard.
