Prevosto fa un uso profondo e marcato della distorsione – su ispirazione di Soutine – accentuando la dimensione drammatica del dipinto: sono “colpiti”, su questa scia, il banco del tavolo, la scrivania, lo schermo del computer e l’armadio, che presenta linee storte. La condizione in cui versa la stella di Natale evoca un senso di morte e rende l’immagine ancora più decadente.

Prevosto makes a deep and marked use of distortion - inspired by Soutine - accentuating the dramatic dimension of the painting: the table, the desk, the computer screen and the wardrobe, which has crooked lines, are "affected" in this vein. The condition of the poinsettia evokes a sense of death and makes the image even more decadent.
