Testo di Luca Deias (ITA) L’opera raffigura il percorso in discesa che da Villa Piazzo conduce verso il paese di Pettinengo, con sullo sfondo la veduta delle montagne. L’immagine, apparentemente paesaggistica, diventa un ulteriore terreno di ricerca sulla distorsione: l’intera scena è attraversata da un andamento curvo e instabile, con lo spettatore che sembra osservarla attraverso una lente deformante. Le linee delle montagne vengono piegate in una curva esasperata; l’albero, la casa e la stessa stradina partecipano a questo movimento ondulatorio che altera la percezione dello spazio. Anche il lampione partecipa a questa metamorfosi: piegato e ondulante, si “trasforma” in una forma vegetale, come un bocciolo o una pianta che cresce accanto agli alberi. In questa ambiguità tra artificiale e naturale, ogni elemento può mutare e assumere un’identità diversa. Oltre alla pennellata grassa e materica, un gioco di controluce attraversa la composizione: la stradina e la parte collinare a sinistra sono immerse nell’ombra, mentre la casa e le montagne sono colpite dalla luce, generando un contrasto tra zone illuminate e zone scure che accentua la sensazione di instabilità. Il cielo, caricato con tonalità fredde di azzurro e verde, assume un carattere quasi invernale. |
Text by Luca Deias (ENG) The work depicts the downhill path leading from Villa Piazzo to the village of Pettinengo, with a view of the mountains in the background. The image, apparently a landscape, becomes a further field of research on distortion: the entire scene is crossed by a curved and unstable pattern, with the viewer seemingly observing it through a distorting lens. The lines of the mountains are bent into an exaggerated curve; the tree, the house and the road itself participate in this undulating movement that alters the perception of space. Even the lamppost participates in this metamorphosis: bent and undulating, it “transforms” into a plant form, like a bud or a plant growing next to the trees. In this ambiguity between artificial and natural, each element can change and take on a different identity. In addition to the thick, textured brushstrokes, a play of backlighting runs through the composition: the road and the hillside on the left are immersed in shadow, while the house and mountains are struck by light, creating a contrast between light and dark areas that accentuates the feeling of instability. The sky, laden with cold shades of blue and green, takes on an almost wintery character. |
