Prevosto trasforma una serie di comuni utensili da cucina in una riflessione pittorica sul tempo, sulla materia e sulla percezione. Gli oggetti raffigurati, appartenenti a un quotidiano ormai passato e segnati dall'uso, perdono la loro funzione pratica per diventare un pretesto attraverso cui estendere la ricerca sulla distorsione a ogni elemento della realtà. L'opera dialoga con la tradizione della natura morta, richiamando la sobrietà compositiva delle bottiglie di Giorgio Morandi e l'attenzione agli oggetti domestici di Jean-Baptiste Siméon Chardin. Tuttavia, questi riferimenti vengono reinterpretati in chiave espressionista: il macinapepe, la bottiglia d'aceto, il contenitore del sale e la spugna marina si deformano insieme alle loro ombre, mentre anche il piano d'appoggio perde stabilità e si dissolve in una superficie sfrangiata e ondulatoria. La tavolozza, costruita quasi interamente su tonalità di beige, ocra e marrone, contribuisce a creare un'atmosfera raccolta e silenziosa, nella quale la luce non descrive semplicemente gli oggetti, ma ne esalta la consistenza materica attraverso una pennellata densa e vibrante.

Prevosto transforms a series of everyday kitchen utensils into a pictorial reflection on time, matter and perception. The objects depicted, belonging to a bygone everyday life and marked by use, lose their practical function to become a pretext through which to extend the exploration of distortion to every element of reality. The work engages with the tradition of still life, evoking the compositional restraint of Giorgio Morandi’s bottles and Jean-Baptiste Siméon Chardin’s focus on domestic objects. However, these references are reinterpreted in an expressionist key: the pepper mill, the vinegar bottle, the salt shaker and the sea sponge are distorted along with their shadows, whilst even the surface on which they rest loses its stability and dissolves into a frayed, undulating surface. The colour palette, built almost entirely on shades of beige, ochre and brown, helps to create an intimate and quiet atmosphere, in which the light does not merely outline the objects, but enhances their material texture through dense, vibrant brushstrokes.
