Come si evince dal titolo, l’opera rimanda alle fosse comuni dei nazisti. Nel suo dipinto l’artista ha fatto riferimento a fotografie reali di cumuli di cadaveri dei campi di concentramento, rappresentandoli come se fossero tagli di carne di un macellaio; il rosa scelto per presentare questi soggetti riprende infatti quello della carne in decomposizione.
Prevosto, in modo semplice e descrittivo, raffigura quindi i corpi senza vita come figure antropomorfe ma indefinite, che mostrano esseri umani deformi. L’artista ha rielaborato i corpi, stravolgendoli con pennellate materiche, spesse, dense, anche liquide. L’umanità è dunque riportata come mutante e trasfigurata dall’orrore, così come gli altri dipinti della serie, in un nuovo parallelismo, anche se meno accentuato, con Francis Bacon.

As indicated by the title, the work refers to mass graves of the Nazis. In his painting, the artist has referenced real photos of piles of bodies in concentration camps, portraying them as if they were butchered meat. Therefore, the pink tone chosen to present these subjects echoes the color of the decomposing flesh.
In a simple and descriptive manner, Prevosto depicts lifeless bodies as anthropomorphic yet indefinite figures, displaying deformed human beings. The artist has reworked the bodies, distorting them with material, thick, dense, and even liquid brushstrokes. Humanity is thus portrayed as mutated and transfigured by horror, akin to the other paintings in the series, in a new parallelism, though less emphasized, with Francis Bacon.
