Text by Luca Deias (ENG) The figure emerges from a blue background, a colour traditionally associated with calm and rest, but here transformed into an ambiguous and unstable surface. On the right half of the face, immersed in blue darkness, the features dissolve: what remains is a silent, suspended presence, evoking the dimension of sleep and abandonment. On the left, however, the image lights up and changes. A terrified face emerges, defined by yellow and acid tones: the eyes and mouth become more evident, as if emerging from a nightmare. The chromatic tranquillity of the night is thus torn apart by a visual eruption that gives shape to disturbing thoughts, to those mental presences that emerge from the subconscious and interrupt rest. Prevosto constructs a double face, traversed by an internal tension between sleep and wakefulness, serenity and turmoil. The chromatic contrast between blue and acid tones - yellows, greens, browns - generates a visual dissonance, a “cacochromia” that reflects the disturbing nature of nocturnal thoughts. |
